Eutrochium purpureum

I first admired this late-season bloomer when I saw it planted in a mass in a New England botanical garden. It towers over other plantings for dramatic effect and is a real magnet for pollinators.
It adds height and colour to the late-summer garden with its mauve/red blooms and tall stems.
Going strong at five years.
